Yea hello everybody I was just wondering if anybody knew of any reliable, free ways to get music off of your iPod short of using SSH. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Oh I know

You don't have to do it from FTP,
you can do it from using a winamp plugin called ml_ipod
BE CAREFUL TO READ THE INSTRUCTIONS AND THE READ ME MANUAL
you could potentially make your ipod touch or iphone unsyncable.
if you have itunes open and winamp has your ipod connect you would have to restore your ipod.

I don't know if this works with the touch, but I used it with my nano and video... if you're using windows you can choose the option to show hidden files (folder option in Explorer) with this enabled, you can go to your ipod and open up the folder where all the music is stored. It'll probably be in folders like f01, f02 ect. But pretty much once you enable this you can grab all the music you have onto your pc hd. However, one problem with this is that when going inside these folders, the songs aren't labeled as the songs itself but as a code. But to overcome this, the song and artist could be in the description. If not you can play it through itunes and it'll show the artist and song.

Try Tansee iPod Transfer Or Ssh with your VERY fast router and internet connection to /var/mobile/Media/Itunes_control/ and copy every mp3 in the folders and drag and drop them into itunes
