I need to restore my iPod touch, but need to save my songs on my computer first. Thanks in advance.
Wouldn't the songs already be on the computer? Haven't you paid attention to Apple's warning to backup your iTunes library?
There are tools that can do this, Google search for them.
or try iPodAccess Please Register or Log in to view images

or try copypod
or try looking it up on google. derrr
beleieve me dude, i searched and the only ways are by SSH which takes days, in my case cuz I have 12 gigs of music, or pay the 20 bucks for touch copy. I had to restore my computer, wanted to clean it up to make it runs smoother and forgot to backup my music. Figured I would just transfer it back with disk mode. But as you know, and as I found out, it doesnt have disk mode. So just get touchcopy. It is worth it.
Search again because there are lots of free utilities that will backup your ipod music right off the ipod. They may not work with the Touch since it doesn't have native disk mode but that shouldn't be a problem if the Touch is JB'd.
Use ipod access, it works quickly and well for the ipod touch, i have used it a number of times and i cant fault it
