Yeah I'm using the exact site and pictures. I'm running 5.1 on a New iPad Wi-Fi Only Black. Also, after trying several pictures on the site, the true 2048x2048 pictures' sites take twice as long to download. Go look at the first picture, the one of the half-naked Gemma Atkinson, it is 1024x1024 and doesnt take long at all for the page to load. Then compare that time to the time it takes for the 2048x2048 pictures to load.
You are correct if I go to http://www.ilikewallpaper.com/Service/DownloadWallpaper/4538, I do indeed see 1024 x 1024
So we solved it wooh! And mow I found an even better site with WAY more picture that are optimized for the new iPad and has a choice from a drop down menu when downloading it to select "iPad 3". http://www.ultrahdwallpapers.com/

Click the "Download" button on the page to get original 2048x2048 image. The image on the left side of the page is a 1024x1024 thumbnail. For example: http://www.ilikewallpaper.com/the-new-ipad-wallpaper/Into-the-City/4634
Actually we have already addressed this issue, and if you read the last few post you would realize that not all the wallpapers on that site are actually at 2048x2048, indeed most of the images of "people" are at 1024x1024... Perhaps they look better at that resolution? Or perhaps it is just harder to see the air brushing at that resolution? You don't get/see the resolution in Safari's tab, unless you have hit the "Download" button...
