THE FINAL VERSION HAS A TOGGLE TO SWITCH BETWWEN 4 AND 5 COLUMNS. THE UPDATED ICON FOR THE TOGGLE IS DIFFERENT FROM THE SCREENSHOTS ABOVE. HERE IS THE UPDATED ONE BY PLIZZO

NOTE: this is to get you Five-Column SpringBoard 0.55 before version 0.56 is released soon on the Ste source. Five-Column SpringBoard is a MobileSubstrate extension that adds a fifth column to your iPhone's home screen. It looks especially nice with nano-sized icon themes, like Abeo or Pump. It's unfinished and but should be relatively safe to use on any firmware over 2.0. Works best on 2.2. Use at your own risk.
The post of this project is http://macthemes2.net/forum/viewtopic.php?id=16792262 for some reason i couldnt get the insert link button to work.

    1) Open Cydia and make sure you have Mobile Substrate (0.9.2690-1), Erica Utilities (bea14), OpenSSH (5.1p1-6), and MobileTerminal (316s-7) installed.
    2) Install "wget" (1.11-3) in Cydia from the Telesphoreo Tangelo source (http://apt.saurik.com/). It is a default source created by the maker of Cydia. Thank him for his work when you get a chance.
    3) Start MobileTerminal (Terminal on your Springboard)
    4) At the Terminal prompt (when it says "localhost:~mobile$"), type "wget http://r-ch.net/dropbox/fcsb-0.55.deb" EXCLUDE THE QUOTES
    5) When it has ran through all the things it has to do, "localhost:~mobile$" will show again, type "su" and press return and type the root password. (The password for root is always "alpine", unless you have changed it.)
    6) Now type "dpkg -i fcsb-0.55.deb" AGAIN EXCLUDE QUOTES
    7) Then exit Terminal, and re-spring.

    Works perfectly!

Hope everyone finds this way to be very easy, just incase people want to do it the manual way, HERE IT IS.
    - You will need MobileSubstrate (comes installed with WinterBoard) and Erica Utilities for this to install.
    - Download the 0.55 deb file. http://r-ch.net/dropbox/fcsb-0.55.deb
    - Upload it to your iPhone/iPod via SFTP/SCP.
    - Log in as root via SSH and change to the directory containing the deb file.
    - Run dpkg -i fcsb-0.55.deb
    - Respring

    IF ANY ONE CARES
    What's new in 0.56?
    - Toggle that allows switching between 4/5 columns
    - Better prevention of >144 icon users breaking SpringBoard

IT should be released very soon.

WHENEVER IT IS RELEASED IN Cydia, YOU WILL BE ABLE TO UPGRADE IT WITH NO PROBLEM, it will pop up in the changes section as an update when the new version is released

    HOPE THIS WORKED FOR YOU

Not officailly, the SOSiphone source put it on there but that is version 0.54 and it has bugs that 0.55 fixes, like 0.54 uses dependences on Ruby which is 7MB, but it will be availible very very soon on the Ste source in version 0.56 that adds a toggle between 4 and 5 columns
