Thank you for posting this important info ... I used to to turn a brick into a working iPod touch. Thanks again!!

Note: It took a couple of tries for it to work, but eventually it succeeded.

Even though these are great instructions by the way,
If you have an iPhone 3G like myself, it is very hard to enter DFU. Why? Because the lock button dosen't work because the outer shell is splitting or because the iPhone 3G is just a piece of sh*t.

    Help me

i updated my iPod Touch From 4.3 to 5.0 beta 5 3 days ago and when i finally activated the iOS 5 with a JB method but then my Home Button messed up. All the JB tweaks and themes are useless and buggy on iOS 5 so i Wanna go back to iOS 4.3.5 (4.3.3 preferably) I've tried it all. applelogo replacement will not work because to pull off this kind of restore u need dfu mode to avoid itunes errors. Dfu.exe is a load of crap. I cannot restore beacuse i restored the iOS 5 after my home button messed up to see if it would solve it. i know that it is a firmware issue beacuse it worked perfectly before i JB'd it. I'll jailbreak it again if i can get a dfu restore. PLZZZZ help, i cannot put up with all of apples BS. I only need dfu mode once PPLLLZ!

@Klassik123 It's most likely that you are on the latest version of iTunes (10.4). Downgrade iTunes to 10.2 and you can return to all those downgrade you always wanted!
