HOW TO: Force iPod Touch, iPad, or iPhone into Restore Mode

    the easiest way is to turn your device completely off then wait 5secs after 5secs hold the home button then plug you device into you computer but keep holding the home button until you see the recovery logo

    Wow thanks. The alternative method really helped me DFU FORCE my friends iPhone: he broke the sleep button.

    i realy need some help here guys.Evry time i try to use restore on my iPod Classic,iTunes give me a message "thid iPod cannot be restored because it contains files that are in use by another aplication" while whenever i connect it to pc iTunes tells me that my iPod is in recovery mode.

    My friend switched the language on my iPod to Japanese as a joke then he accidently reset it, so i reset it back the the settings i wanted it but then it wouldn't boot but now it works

    thanks SO MUCh. I bought an itouch from ebay for 26 bucks but the power button was broken so i coudln't jailbreak it or restore it but this really helped thank u
