My iPod has a new problem. Whenever I try seeing any video on YouTube I get an error saying cannot connect to YouTube. Even while browsing in app, I get same error. But safari and skyfire work fine. Also I'm asked about push notifications everytime I open any app. This never used to happen before. Can anyone please help?
um, how do you use redsn0w? and what's an IPSW? I've jailbroken an IPOD touch 4g with greenpoison before, but it's not as if I had to do any kind of work...
Have you done any new plist edit? Have you tired the youtube HD quality reduction plist hack? If no to both, try to download the youtube HD plist hack. It can very well be that your internet connection cannot support 720p video. If yes to both, undo the 720p youtube hack. If yes, then no, undo the recent plist tweak you did.
It's yes to both, and I undo'ed the 720p hack...it didn't work though. But I had made a change to another plist file also, got it back to original...and still didn't work. Say, can I restore 4.1(I'm running it currently) without losing apps?
redsnow is a jailbreak program. ipsw is the firmware/Operating System file of the iPod. The ipsw is equivalent to Windows 7 installation CD. The only way to stay on 4.1 via system file restore is by doing a DFU restore using saved blobs. Hence, the answer to your question is no.
well gave it a shot with redsnow, program asked me to go into dfu mode (could do it in in my sleep now since I've been doing it so many times) but still couldn't detect.... i do get this strange error once in a while within itunes "error 42408" my main computer is a vista, it makes a sound when the ipod is plugged in (just doesn't detect it) my other computer is an xp, and when I plug it in the ipod does make a chime, but the comp doesn't read that anything is plugged in... weird thing is, does this happen once in a while? I can only assume that the other person didn't drop this ipod (no obvious scuffs or dents), so I can only assume that he tried to jailbreak it (though unsuccessfully)... I would think that it would be rather difficult to screw up an ipod this much as to just brick it..... well anyway, gotta wait for the battery to drain again I'll be back when I get it back to the battery and/or recovery screen thanks for your time ....man, I'm gonna go crazy with this thing edit... another thing I noticed when it was in recovery mode, the itunes logo is not current, it's the one with the disk and the clef symbol (if that helps determine version)
To get out of DFU just hold the power hand home button for 10 more seconds. Also, if it makes a chime, then you are in business. Want to do teamviewer to fix it?
appreciate the offer, but unfortunately it's not that I don't trust you, but I don't know you (sorry) you never know who's out there, and the last thing I need is somebody fishing around in my main computer... anyway, it came out of dfu mode fine (well, straight into recovery mode anyway), then itunes gave me error -42408 (I wonder if that means anything) what would you do if your comp didn't read a device though? (I've tried a LOT of different techniques, and Ive already tried the disabling/uninstalling thing a few times) needless to say, if I can just figure this one thing out I'd be set edit... btw, (stupid question, I know) exactly what is team view anyway? is it website based?
