how to fix my screwed up INSTALLER

    When i run installer it says INSUFFICIENT PERMISSION. "installer was not installed correctly. It should be run as root:wheel. We will continue byt please remember that it may not function correctly"

    And indeed it doesnt function properly. I cant download many of the programs. It says ERROR!!!

    How do i fix this major problem

    change the permissions of installer.app to 755 and all the files in it to 775

    ^^^^ yeah or when it happend to me i went into uninstall packages and went to installer and clicked re-install and that worked for me

    chown -R root:admin /Applications/Installer
    In Terminal.

    i had the same problem is..all i did was go to var/mobile/library/installer and copied all the plist files to a folder on my desktop then delete every folder named installer..then i used ziphone to re-jailbreak nd it gave me a fresh installer brand new nd i didnt lose anything..then i got the plist files from my desktop and put replaced the ones that were in the new installer so its fixed with all my stuff back on it..good as new

    neither of the methods of changing the permission nor reinstalling installer worked.
    when i tried to reinstall it said....error........like..... doubleyou tee efff man...........

    chown -R root:wheel /Applications/Installer.app

    chmod -R 777 /Applications/Installer.app

    chmod 4755 /Applications/Installer.app/Installer
    
    remember to run them as root.

    Now the INSUFFICENT PERMISSION doesnt show up but i still cant download any packages...

    it says ERRRROR!!!!!
