Hey jltdhome, maybe you didn't read my post or the others thoroughly enough, but I did search. This is a fix for AIM. Not MSN like everything else. This is different things you're adding to the hosts file than in the other threads. And this works for 1.1.3 too which some of the other ones don't. So before you go telling me to search make sure its the same thing. The other ones don't work for AIM, this does!!!

And I know what a search box looks like....

Now what if I did this but it says "Cannot find server" or something along the lines of that?

It works once then never again?!

Apple guy, did that really happen to you or are you just saying what if? Make sure that that the hosts file you added this too was never nodded before. Start with a clean one. The first time I tried this the hosts file I used had some lines left over from another fix I tried and it wouldn't work but I got a new hosts file from someone here and it worked. Make sure you type everything in right. I don't really have any ideas other than those because I didn't make this, I found it at everythingicafe as I said in I believe my 2nd post here

I changed my mind here's what happened:

Change Host File - Apollo worked (AIM)
    MobileChat Worked (AIM)
I couldn't get GTalk to work

I am now using BeeJive with a webclip on my SpringBoard

OK this is an AIM fix but I dont have an MSN, GTalk, or ICQ or any of the other instant messengers, I only have AIM, so I didn't know if it worked with the others. Did anybody get any other kinds of instant messengers to work with this? If you did please post it here.

You are amazing, Apollo had NEVER worked for me, in 1.1.1, 1.1.2 or 1.1.3, but now it is working fantastically! Thanks so much.

catchme would you mind sending me the hosts file you're using?

I've opened mine with wordpad which reads the code clearly, i've pasted in the new host addresses, and uploaded to the correct spot root/etc on my ipod touch, yet it still doesn't want to work.

I'm on JB 1.1.3, and neither mobile chat nor apollo works for me. I've used meebo in place of them, but having an actual app would be nice.

My aim is EMPaighton, i'm usually on daily.

    Thanks.
