    How-to fix a "bricked" 2.0 ipod

Well i just figured this out my self.

If you are running 7.7 you will see that your ipod is showing up as a Iphone and you will not be able to restore it.

    What to do :

In this tutorial you will downgrad your itunes to 7.5 and your ipod to 1.1.4

    Downgrade your itune to 7.5
( i found it would not let me open 7.5 becasue of a library made on 7.6 or 7.7 , to fix that go to my documents - music - itunes and delete the library and then it will work)

    Here for windows.

    or

    Here for mac

then find a source for the 1.1.4 firmware and download it.

Go to itune and click your ipod and it should be stuck in recovery mode already.

    Hold shift and click restore.

Find the 1.1.4 File and click it.

Let itunes do it stuff and bam your back to normal.

    Hope this helps many brickers.

The main reason for me saying how to fix a bricked ipod is becasue when my ipod broke it would not turn on or be recognized for more that 20 seconds on itunes 7.7 so i figured i bricked it. i was not going to sit here with a bricked ipod so i decided to mess around for a bit and i figured out it really was not bricked it was just broken and stuck in restore mode. would not turn on or even show the connect to computer picure it usually does . When i would go to put it in DFU mode i would just get a white screen and nothing else untill it shut itself off.

So many people will think their ipod is bricked and then see this title and be like YESSS i have another chance.

Relax...Sometimes the best way to get the point across is through hyperbole. Plus it makes this easier to spot for a poor confused newbie who is already freaking out and probably not reading things properly as it is.

Although, maybe making the title How-to-fix a "bricked" 2.0 iPod will satisfy everyone.
