My parents often confiscate my iPod Touch and I know that it is in my house, just not where. Is there anything I could install so that when they take it I can find it by alarm or tracking for free.

Don't do whatever you do to make them take it. I'm sure your parents have a good reason for it.

MobileMe offers a "Find My iPhone" service bundled in with the rest for $99/yr, but the iPod touch has to be on and connected to a WiFi network. It won't help you anyways, since it's accuracy is +/- a few kilometres

I don't think there is anything that will pinpoint your device's location to a closer radius than that though, sorry.

I guess if you know it will be taken away set the alarm to go off at a certain time, turn up volume full blast, and search every room at that time daily...

Yeah lol just set an alarm for when you know they'll have taken it and will be gone and then go find it. Or be a good, respectful child and it won't get taken away

Solution. Listen and you wouldn't have this problem in the first place.

Going to have to agree with the others. Figure out why they are taking it (behavior, chores, etc) and fix that so they don't take your iPod in the first place. I know if I took my son/daughter's iPod away and they found it, I'd take away for even longer. And if need be, take it to my work and leave it there.

The mature way to solve this would be to stop trying to go around your parents, and do what they say. That's the reason it is being taken in the first place.
