So you should now know how to do step 13. for step 15 and 14, you need to download MobilePhone.app from your donor iDevice, and we are working within it... 14. Edit the info.plist in the MobilePhone.app that is from the iDevice 4. Change CFBundleDisplayName~ipod to CFBundleDisplayName~ipad, CFBundleIconFiles~ipod to CFBundleIconFiles~ipad, CFBundleURLTypes~ipod to CFBundleURLTypes~ipad, UILaunchImageFile~ipod to UILaunchImageFile~ipad, and add a 2 to the UIDeivceFamily array (For help with adding the 2 visit http://www.funkyspacemonkey.com/apps-ipad-compatible) 15. Replace the Default~ipod.png with the attached file, then upload the MobilePhone.app to the iPad's /Applications/ folder so go to the root of your iPad, open the Applications folder and place the modified MobilePhone.app there.
same problem - won't launch Same issue as other users - launches and immediately quits on iPad. Suspect problem is related to using bundles from version 4.1 of my iPhone. Although not specifically mentioned in the instructions, I think you need to use 4.2.1 components when copying over .... Also in the instructions, suspect that the part about modifying the MobilePhone.app is instructing you to mod the app on the iPhone (not the iPad) to allow the iPhone to communicate with the iPad (i.e.,not meant to be copied over to the iPad, although I did anyway). cheers ...
4.2.1 is a must. You are to edit the MobilePhone.app that is going onto the iPad. Do not modify anything on your iPhone or iPod Touch.
hey intell, nice work!!!! i've got it so far, that i can start the facetime app but all i see is saying this: FACETIME FACETIME_SPLASH_SYNOPSIS FACETIME_SPLASH_LEARN_MORE And there is a button that says "FACETIME_SPLASH_GET_STARTED" and when I tap on it, it comes to an empty screen... I've read on forum macrumors that you told someone to copy that conference.framework of iphone 4 to the ipad and rename the ipad version... as you say in step 2 and 3 and i did that, but it still won't work.... any idea?
Did you try rebooting the iPad? I've found that helps fix things sometimes. And just checking. You did rename the iPad's Conference.framework then upload the iDevice 4's in it's place?
yes I restarted several times now... and yes, so now in /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks there is Conference.framework (from the iOS 4.2.1 iPhone 4) and ConferenceiPad.framework (the original). Both have right 755. It's an iPad Wifi 16 GB, jailbreaked with the new greenpoison rc5_2 mac version.
I'm at a loss as to why it isn't working properly. Maybe try the Conference.framework from the iPod Touch 4 instead. The language strings are kept in the Conference.framework and should be loaded properly. Have you done everything else properly? Try going through the steps again.
wait a sec... do i have to rename it into ConferenceiPad.framework and then overwrite the content with the content of the Conference.framework of the iOS 4.2.1 iPhone 4???
Take the iPad's original Conference.framework to ConferenceiPad.framework. Then upload the iDevice 4's Conference.framework in its place. Because there is not already another Conference.framework, the SSH program should not ask you if you want to overwrite it.
Okay as a test I deleted MobilePhone.app from my iPad copied MobilePhone.app (from iPhone 4 4.2.1 (8C148)) to my iPad and rebooted, I now have the phone icon on my iPad. However it fails to launch... iFiles says it is 3,590,810 bytes, 414 Files owner is root, group is admin on the iPad This is one more file than iFile reports on the iPhone 4,
