    - Premade Cydia Repo -

    | Premade Cydia Repo |
    Litte bit of experience needed

    - I found this on the net and wanted to share with you -
    - I am not the Autor -

    || Please note that asking me for help will not get you far ||
    I just found it on the net

    | How to make your personal Cydia Repo |
    - Easier guide than Saurik's -

    - Find the package here -

    http://[PIRACY.rs].com/files/159655030/precydia.rar
    or..
    http://www.sendspace.com/file/k1c6l7

    - What you need to do -

    1. unzip the package & upload the folder x-repo to you webserver
    2. change the 'Release' file to suit yourself (only change the stuff in red)
    Code:
    Origin: [COLOR="Red"]your site name[/COLOR]
    Label: [COLOR="Red"]what you want to call your repo[/COLOR]
    Suite: stable
    Version: 1.0
    Codename: stable
    Architectures: iphoneos-arm
    Components: main
    Description: [COLOR="Red"]Desc of your repo[/COLOR]

    3. Make sure that you have created your package. Look at the folder structure of the ''Debian'' folder and the 'control' file are a must for each package

    4. Run the command
    'dpkg-deb -b webclip' to compile/create the .deb from the folders

    5. Run the command
    'dpkg-scanpackages -m . /dev/null -->Packages' and 'gzip -f Packages' to create the Packages.gz file

    Thats about it for more information about creating packages etc your best place to look is on Saurik's Site

    You need SSH access to your server or if you have a linux/unix box you can use that

    Please Note: I have included a file called dpkg-gettext.pl if you get an error message about this file just copy it to the server and add this line to the 'dpkg-scanpackages' on the second line
    Code:
    push(@INC, '/pathto/dpkg-gettext.pl');
    CHANGE THE PATH TO MATCH WHERE YOU PUT THE FILE

    You also need to install fink, then install apt-dev and deb-dev from fink for it to work if your on a mac.

    awesome, thank you.

    one note: the dpkg-scanpackages that comes with fink or darwinports doesnt work well. make sure you use the one provided in the OP's zip. to do that, just add a ./ to the dpkg-scanpackages. so you'd run this:

    ./dpkg-scanpackages -m . /dev/null -->Packages

    This works, but the better way to reach more users is the community sources.

    It dosnt work on windows, if your on a PC, you need to install Linux, which is an open source OS made for developing things like this. Mac is based off of Linux, which is why there are only tuts for mac & linux, and not windows.

    Hope i helped!
