Ok Hi my first thread...I really needed to share!
Now ive been trying to do this FOREVER!!!!!

    Ok First UNINSTALL ITUNES 9

    2. DOSNT MATTER WHERE INSTALL ITUNES 8.2 NOT 8.2.1

    3. IT WILL SAY LIBRARY NOT READABLE MADE WITH NEWER VERSION DELETE THEM IN WINDOWS EXPLORER JUST SEARCH LIBRARY YOULL FIND IT

    4. OPEN YOUR RECYCLE BIN! YOU WILL BE ABLE TO FIND YOUR OLD FIRMWARES FOR YOUR IPOD/IPHONE AND YOUR LIBRARY

    5. PUT YOUR IPOD/IPHONE TO DFU MODE(HOLD HOME AND POWER BUTTON FOR TEN SECONDS THEN RELEASE POWER BUTTON AND REMAIN HOLDING HOME BUTTON

    6. WHEN ITUNES TELLS YOU ITS IN DFU MODE CLICK SHIFT AND RESTORE THEN DRAG THE OLD FIRMWARE TO IPOD SOFTWARE UPDATES FILE FOLDER THEN CLICK SELECT

    7. ENJOY AND IF YA WANT JAILBREAK!!!!

Nope. The preloaded 3.1+ 8GB will not work.

I don't know why everyone is saying to uninstall iTunes 9.0... no need... just make sure you are correctly set in DFU mode.
