Ok since so many people ask "How do i downgrade?" i am releasing a tutorial on how to do it.

First get the firmware you want from Here and save it somewhere you can remember:

    http://www.ifans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=43313

Now We Need To Put Your iPhone/iPod Touch in DFU mode:

There are 3 ways to go into DFU mode:

    First way:

    1. Go to http://www.ziphone.org and download ziphone

    2. after you install hit advanced features and hit DFU mode

    3. Once ziphone says its done and your iPhone/iPod Touch is in DFU mode, open iTunes and Skip down to "Now to Downgrade"

    Second Way:

    1. Make sure your iPhone/iPod Touch is turned on and connected to iTunes

    2. Hold the power and home button down at the same time till it turns off

    3. As soon (like once you see) the iPhone/iPod Touch disappears (disconnects) from iTunes, let go of the power button but continue to hold the Home button

    4. Wait till iTunes says "Your iPod is in recovery mode and has to be restored", if you look at your iPhone/iPod Touch the screen will be black...This is normal and your iPhone/iPod Touch is in DFU mode

    Third Way:

Heres a link to a thread Gojohnnyboi made that has a downgrade prep:

    http://www.ifans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=44217&highlight=downgrade prep

Follow those instructions, your iPhone/iPod Touch will not appear in DFU mode, but when you are restoring it automatically goes into DFU mode

    Now To Downgrade:

    1. Now make sure you downloaded the firmware and is saved in a spot that is easy to find, Hold the shift button and click restore, a file browser should pop up, locate the firmware and double click on it

    22. Now wait for your iPhone/iPod Touch to finish restoring and it should have downgraded to the firmware you located.

    All Done!

uhh at step 4 u say that the ipod will be in dfu mode. thats not true, it will be in recovery mode and that doesnt let u downgrade from 1.1.3. for that u need to download ziphone and use it to go into dfu mode(or u can unzip the 1.1.1 firmware and take a file out there called WTF.something8900xall.SOMETHING.dfu or something and then iphuc to copy the file to ur itouch while its in recovery mode). there is a difference because sometimes u cant restore without dfu mode.

Restore mode is different, and please get rid of your giant quote on me, no reason to do that... Restore mode is different...

    Restore mode

    1. Hold Power and Home Till Turns Off
    2. Let go of Power and Home Button
    3. Then Hit the power and home button till it turns on
    4. When you see the apple let go of the power but continue to hold down the home

As you can see step 2-4 are different and DFU is Only 2 steps

jesus. the way u no ur ipod is in dfu mode is because the screen will be white(windows) and on a mac there will b a blueish tinge to the same screen as the recovery mode screen until u after itunes extracts the firmware and says preparing ipod for restore. then the screen will flash a really bright white for like a second and then restore. i can garuntee that these are what happen because ive used both methods to get into dfu mode on both my mac and pc

Ok again you are wrong and please i dont want to ask twice. REMOVE YOUR QUOTE ON MY FIRST POST. DFU mode is different then restore mode, the blue tint is if you use ziphone. if you don't believe me try it, but you are wrong and ask anybody here, the person up a few posts said it worked great for him.
