Unless I am mistaken, this won't work with the IPT 3G correct?

So does this definitely work with the 3g iPod?

I have been recommending people do this, but haven't actually tried it as I did not (and do not intend to) upgrade to 3.1.3.

I don't think this will work on the 3gS due to the baseband update in the 3.1.3 update.

I did notice that however I also read on the front page of this site:

Apple ceased signing 3.1.2 firmware today, which means that Apple will no longer activate the 3.1.2 firmware for use on 3GS and iPod touch 3G.

If you have an iPhone 3GS or iPod touch 3G on 3.1.2 and want the ability to downgrade back to 3.1.2 in future then make sure you have backed up your ECID SHSH signatures through Cydia or Rock. Users of these devices who haven’t backed up their signatures in this way will be stuck at 3.1.3 if they are forced to restore.

I think you have missed the boat...when apple stopped signing the 3.1.2 the opportunity to back them up was lost.

I also missed out, Cydia didn't give me the option to do it.

Ok I bought a 16gb ipod touch 3g on the first day that it came out.So I don't know if it falls under the MC category or what but I need to restore my ipod. I have tried this method but as soon as it tells me that I need to restore, whether I press ok or just X out of it, my itunes automatically starts to restore or sync it. When I press the shift and restore button it just brings up my music library. Can you explain weather I am doing this right or wrong and if I'm doing it right then where can I find the 3.1.2 file. Also as far as signing goes I didn't do anything specific in the cydia or rock store but I noticed at the top of the cydia screen it did say that my sshs was stored. Thanks for you help
