Hey Guys, I have a problem.

I did a downgrade from 2.1 to 1.1.4 before reading this thread. So all I did is to use shift + click, then select 1.1.4 firmware and let it restore on it's own.

Failed after extracting software. So this means now I no longer have any softwares inside. Must I go through the DFU way to downgrade this ? .. I've installed 7.5 Itunes but still failed. I've tried 1.1.3 firmware as well, but no use.

Any other ways for me ?

ahh .. I restore back 2.1 .. then do it in the DFU mode .. superb. 1.4 rocks .. Can use the equalizer again .. Thanks Thread Starter!

You can't, 1.1.4 is an iPod Touch firmware, not iPhone.

If you're trying to jailbreak the iPhone, and you have 2.0.2 on it (maybe you should upgrade to 2.1 while you're at it), then you want to jail break using QuickPwn or PwnageTool. Neither however will unlock a 3G iPhone but will still jailbreak it. ( http://blog.iphone-dev.org/post/49988701... )

Course that's assuming thats why you want to downgrade (Since you don't try to downgrade iTunes too unless thats the intent, but the link I provided above should work with iTunes 8 as well).
