I have a 3G Jailbroken and Unlocked. I remember someone editing via SSH to disable the multitasking. I have already edited my Wallpapers to exclude the shading and this has helped remove the lag and still have wallpapers to play with.
I know I can re break and unlock and remove these options but I want to see if this is viable also.

    Thanks in advance
    Ken

Go to /System/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app/ and look for N82AP.plist

Edit that and remove the multitasking key

    It worked! Thanks.
Why delete instead of changing to False?
    Thanks again.

    ok, found out how:
    Go to System>Library>CoreServices>Springboard.app

Scroll to the very bottom… Their are a bunch of wallpaper pngs.. Rename or delete WallpaperIconShadow, WallpaperIconShadowT, WallpaperDockShadow and WallpaperDockShadowT and respring. Your done.
