Hey, I was wondering how to crate an installer.app source.

I searched on Google and could not find anything.

    Maybe some explanation.

You'll find a demo.zip, which contains an example of website. There's a redirect at the top of the PHP script that redirects any request not coming from an iPod/iPhone, just comment it out if you want to make a test from a PC, or add "?debug=1" after the URL.

It was initially on this page: http://iphone.nullriver.com/beta/

Yeah, my idea is to make a website where people can just put it up on an installer source for free.

Like when you open it up, a prompt comes up and asks for info, and your app.

Then, just edit the title and stuff.

Anyone willing to work with me on this? Oh, and could I do this all on godaddy? Because I don't have a server or anything.

Well, there's a repository here so you may want to ask SkylarEC about this. Check this thread out: http://www.ifans.com/forums/announcement.php?f=54&a=14

Now my opinion is that you have to limit how people can put applications somehow, if you just leave that wide open you will get spam and lot of inconsistencies in the list, believe me. How I would see that ideally is people uploading and submitting applications, themes and other installable stuff on a private repository, and a small team testing it (possibly reviewing it), then adding that on the public list under the correct category (if there are more than one repository). But I know from past experiences that in practice finding people who are ready to commit to that - I mean for more than a couple of days - is almost impossible.

Incidentally, you also need material to put in the repository.

That being said, I'm ready to help to some extent, for example to write/modify the PHP code, put the thing on tracks and keeping it in the right direction. Provided that the idea catches here

(Don't misunderstand me, I like the idea very much.)

Anyone else want to help with the PHP?

I want to get this whole thing working before I purchase the domain.
I don't know PHP, but I know HTML well.
I won't be able to work on it today or tomorrow, but on friday and for like the next week im totally free (I love how my school gets out 1 week earlier than everyone else =P).
