how to copy apps from ipod to computer without itunes?

    i need to copy my apps from my ipod to my computer (it is NOT the computer i usually use for itunes; that computer doesn't work anymore.)

    i was thinking maybe i could ssh them onto my computer, but where are the app files located?

    but they aren't the ipa files? they're a bunch of random named folders with the app inside...
    if i drag-and-dropped that into itunes would it work correctly?

    iPod touch apps can still be synced to another computer, just authorize it and select transfer purchases.

    If not, just SSH them out of /var/mobile/Applications.

    I don't want to get them mixed up with my brothers apps so I don't want them on this computer(I can't say why since it's against the rules). I need them on this computer until I can get my own computer.

    Can I just ssh them on? Liiike, if I copy those folders, then get a new iPod, jailbreak it, then ssh them on the new iPod? Would that work?
