EDIT: I know this was made a long time ago, I fixed it because now I know how to really do it. So now it will work, don't forget to port forward!!

    On The Computer:

    1. downoad tight vnc (its a server to connect to your computer)
You can get it for windows Here. (Clickable)
    For Linux Here.(Clickable)
For Mac you will need a different server i have windows so ill show you how on windows

    2. Install Tight VNC then, set up tight vnc by going to: All Programs > Tight VNC > Show user settings

and change the password here(to whatever you want, You can change it by going to this again):

    3. Go to http://www.DynDns.com (Clickable)
and sign up if you havent and after you login click this:

    5. After that do this:

Tell it to auto detect the ip address
Click create even though i said not to in the picture

    6. Now, go back to here:
but instead click Launch tightvnc server

    7. then in your task bar you should see a "V" image scroll over it and wait till you see this:

where it is black it will show something like: 192.168.
That ip address is your local ip, you can connect to that when you are at home.

Note: remember what your sub-domain is that you made

    Done for the computer part!

    What to do your ipod:

    1. if you are on 2.0/ 3.0 go into the appstore and go to the business section and
Install mocha VNC lite or if you want to buy it get the full version Or buy other software.

If your on 1.x firmware jailbreak and install touchpad pro

    2. in mocha vnc (or other vnc program)
go to connect, here's a pic:

i can only post 10 pictures so heres the link to it:

    8. Port Forward!

You need to port forward ports 5500, 5800, 5900 check http://portforward.com and select your router. My router is very weird so i have to enable remote administration for it to work, If yours is like that enable it here:

This is not my router but it shows an example port forward page:

if i messed up please send me a pm!

Note: if you don't have a static ip adress then you have to use dyndns.

On a Mac you don't need to jump through hoops like this. It's all built into the system. Just set it up in System Preferences / Sharing / Remote Management

All you need then is your IP address.

I really want to try it, and I'm jailbroken on 2.0, but I hear the Apple Logo freeze might be caused by Mocha VNC lite. So I'm going to hold off until there's proof whether or not it messes things up.

And thanks for the guide, this is well done.
