I have an Ipod Touch which I want to give to my grandson for Christmas.
It already has several apps, etc on it, and I want to totally clear it so that when he opens it at Christams, it will be as a new one, with nothing on it, and he will then connect to iTunes and set up his own account.

So how do I clear this iPod ?
    Thanks in advance
    Bazz

Plug it into your computer, open itunes and press restore.

After you restore and it finishes restoring unplug it from the computer directly after and it will stay on the screen that apple has it on when you buy it (an activation screen) It will show the restore logo. When he plugs it in it will activate.

The above is slightly wrong, after you restore hold down the home button and connect your it to your computer, but you have to start holding home before connecting it. Also make sure your iPod is completely off. This will bring it back into the screen that says "Please connect to iTunes" as if it was brand new.
