Finding that the folder background isn't changing on 4.1?

After you replace the folder background you need to navigate to private/var/mobile/Library/Caches/ and delete the file named:com.apple.Springboard.folderSwitcherLinen, and then respring. You will need to do this every time you change the background.

I have found the same problem, I think there is a problem with Winterboard and Ios 4.1, I hope they get it sorted.

If you do this, the background will change. I dont know why it's there, doesn't seem to do anything special except make it harder to change

Maybe that was what Apple were trying to do. They like making it hard for their community remember.

I have found if you use FolderEnhancer you can change the background through winterboard again by adding your own background file (called: FEFolderBG.png in the folder Sample.theme/Bundles/com.apple.springboard/ in Winterboard) without removing the file: com.apple.Springboard.folderSwitcherLinen.

It seems to have its own file it uses, rather than the system one.
