HOW-TO change the version number (e.g 1.1.3)

    I figured out how to change version number and text, like in this picture:

    go into /System/Library/CoreServices/SystemVersion.plist and change your version and other stuff.

    Ya, my favorite number is 2 so i changed it to 2.2.2. I just hope nobody is really creepy and changesit to 6.6.6

    thank you! this is just another one of those pointless, yet awesome hacks that help further customize (or disguise) your ipod!

    EDIT: can someone upload a copy of the systemversion.plist for me? I must have messed something up because no matter what I do it says N/A

    Yeah this is a good prank if you are jailbreaking your friend's iPod.

    I figured this when I was playing round with my iPod's System files. I know the . Plist files can be edited so I edited the SystemVersion.plist and I managed to "fakely" change the firmware of my iPod. But I was scared it could mess up my iPod. Oh yeah, when you connect it to iTunes, you still have 1.1.2 or 1.1.1.
