i know that the wepkey is still the same because everyone that can read can crack wep, but i still cant connect. i figured there is a mac filter that only allows the school pcs and laptops so i eavesdropped the traffic and succesfully made a list of allowed adresses.
then i tried to find out how to change the mac adress of my ipod, and used this command in the terminal:

ifconfig -> showed me some bullocks and the original mac adress
ifconfig en0 lladdr 00:11:22:33:44:55 -> to change the adress to 00:11:22:33:44:55 or in my case one of the adresses on the allowed list.

is this the wrong command or do i have to find another way to get back on the network?

Do you have a laptop? Or is there a computer with a wifi card somewhere at school? Set up an adhoc from that computer, and let your ipod connect to it.

That's how I got around whatever sort of block they had on my ipod accessing the wifi at school.
