I recently downloaded the app which changed your firmware number so you can play older apps, and well it didnt work, and I didnt realize, but it doesnt let you go any higher then version 2.0, and so my Iphone is stuck on version 2.0, and my itunes thinks its 2.0 so I cant download any new apps.

Is there any way I can fix this without restoring then rejailbreaking, then redownloading all my apps. It seems like a simple flick of the switch to fix this, but Im a noob. Help?

Why did you try and downgrade? Then you can't have the App Store!

You can manually do it by editing the systemversion.plist

Where can I find systemversion.plist? and how would I edit it?

    /System/Library/CoreServices/SystemVersion.plist

Should be there. SSH in and save to desktop. Open with text editor and you should see where to change it when you open it. Then save it back to where you copied it from and restart
