im not sure if anyone found this out already but i just did so im posting it

navigate to: /var/mobile/Applications and search in those folders that you see with all those letters and numbers and there should be the name of the app in it, open the folder with the name of the app and drop the icon.png there

Doesn't always work. It often makes the app crash straight away.

Crashes the app for me too.
Even if you don't sync your iPod to iTunes for Apps, all the apps you changed the icons for except the last one you did will become corrupt.

Anyone got a fix? Or a way to resign the app?

    Thanks

I'm not sure if this will work because i havn't actually tried this but you can:
save the application you want to the desktop (just drag and drop off itunes)
rename it to RAR file (appname.rar instead of appname.ipa)
open the RAR file and open the payload folder and then the appname folder
replace the icon.png with the one you want
rename the appname.rar back to appname.ipa
    copy it back to itunes.

like i said i don't know if this will work but let me know if it does

It never ceases to amaze me how folks come on here and tell you what you should try, when they are afraid to test it out themselves BEFORE they post their ideas...

This is a sure way to brick your iPod... dismiss these ignorant posts, people!
