    This is a quick tut for backgrounds in firmware 2.0. It is the same hack that i did temp for firmware 1.1.3 release.

    Steps:
    1. Download iReboot.app from cydia
    1a. BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING, drag the iReboot from where ever it may be on your springboard to the first page top left.
    2. SSH into your iTouch
    3. Navigate to /Applications/iReboot.app
    4. Download the attachment below, choose a desired background pack.
    5. Drag the icon.png file into the iReboot.app ssh folder and replace the old one.
    --> Set Permission -- icon.png -- 777
    6. Drag the SBDockBG.png into /System/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app, replace the old one.
    --> Set Permission -- SBDockBG.png -- 777
    7. BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING, drag the iReboot from where ever it may be on your springboard to the first page top left.
    8. Reboot your ipod and you'll have a background that will last for a few pages along with a dock.

    Future Updates:
    -- Background to cover in behind the dock area.

    Note: This is a temp mod, until summer board is ported.

    Changes:
    v1.0.1: Modified for firmware 2.0 (quick mod, not perfect) works for all.
    v1.0.0b: Modified for firmware 1.1.4 works with firmware 1.1.3
    v1.0.0: Created only works for firmware 1.1.3

    Take Care,
    Jon

    NOTE:!: Landscape 1, Terragen Might not work the best cause their file sizes are massive. The other ones will work great, i'll modify this and fix this for a future release. Once you get the know how of how this works you can create your own backgrounds and docks. If you do create your own backgrounds and docks feel free to post them in this thread.

    p.s i bearly am around so i may not answer questions. The tut is pretty straight forward.

    Basically it stays behind all the other icons, and basically acts like a background. Only difference is that it moves

    Well 2000 x 860 Change the width to larger to cover more pages. It's a better work around for summerboards background for now. Sure beats that plain black background.

    What you can also do is tile the image to have multipul of the same images so each page has the same image so that it isn't stretched so long and look a bit out of place. I'll release ONE tiled image for a sample. I'm free for this whole week so maybe i find a way to get true background that summerboard uses and implement it into a program and release. I got to reset up my developing environment again. Pain in the a**.
