This is a quick and easy tutorial on how to make the menu-bar in Mac OS X auto-hide so that you have a bit more room to use your applications in. This hack has to be done for each app separately and can be used on the Finder application.

    1. Locate the application you want to use the hack on. I'm using QuickTime Player as an example.

    2. Right-click the application and choose 'Show package contents'

    3. Go on 'Contents'

    4. Copy the 'info.plist' to your desktop and double click it.

    5. Right-click and choose 'Add row'

    6. Then type this: 'LSUIPresentationMode' as the key and press enter.

    7. Change the value to 4 and press enter.

    8. Close and save the file.

    9. Replace the 'info.plist' in the contents folder with the modified one you just created, it may ask for permission.

    Done!
