[HOW-TO] Alternate JailbreakMe Method (via iBooks) ONLINE AND OFFLINE

Alternate Method to load JailbreakMe Jailbreak onto your device:

This method has been explained before and I DO NOT TAKE ANY CREDIT for this find. I am merely reposting this for ease of access.

I've noticed due to the simplicity of this new jailbreak, and the fact that being officially declared legal, more people are trying this out. This causes a tremendous load on the website servers and because of that, http://www.jailbreakme.com and http://jailbreakme.modmyi.com are not always working.

    Alternate Method:

This jailbreak is done through a PDF exploit method. Once your device renders the downloaded PDF (either through safari, iBooks, mail, etc), it injects the jailbreak payload.

The method I will be explaining is the iBooks method. This has been tested on a Mac. For the email method, go here: http://www.ifans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=303001

1.) You will need to download iBooks from the App Store. If you didn't already know, it's a free app made by Apple. Sync your device with iTunes to make sure iBooks is installed in iTunes as well if you have not already done so.

2.) Once you have downloaded that to your device, visit:

    http://jailbreakme.com/_/

on your computer and download the appropriate PDF for the version your device is running. Here is a helpful guide. [RIGHT CLICK -> SAVE TARGET AS]

    iPhone 1,1 = iPhone 2G
    iPhone 1,2 = iPhone 3G
    iPhone 2,1 = iPhone 3Gs
    iPhone 3,1 = iPhone 4

    iPod 1,1 = iPod Touch 1st Gen
    iPod 2,1 = iPod Touch 2nd Gen
    iPod 3,1 = iPod Touch 3rd Gen

iPad 1,1 = iPad (Includes both wifi and 3G models)

3.) After you have the appropriate pdf file, drag it into iTunes, and sync it with your device. It should now appear in iBooks.

4.) Open iBooks on your device and select PDF's at the top and open the PDF file you just synced with your device. It should start the jailbreak process.

    5.) Enjoy!

OFFLINE METHOD [For those of us without working device wifi]

    iPhone 1,2 = iPhone 3G

    iPhone 3,1 = iPhone 4

    iPod 1,1 = iPod Touch 1st Gen

5.) Go Here and look up how to use your PC's internet connection on your iPhone.

    or HERE:

    http://modmyi.com/forums/general-ip...ernet-iphone-through-usb-no-wifi-no-edge.html

6.) Try and understand what to do in step 5...I'm trying to find an easier way...Then once you have your internet going on your device, proceed to step 6.

7.) Open iBooks on your device and select PDF's at the top and open the PDF file you just synced with your device. It should start the jailbreak process.

Sweet! This'll be great, because after restoring (I had some issues with the jailbreak) I can't get access to the server.

It is very creative, and hell, I don't even know what Apple got hit with, but it must be painful.
Random Thought: I bet Apple employees jailbreak. Lol

Oh, you will need to sync your iTunes with your device beforehand...I will fix this part of the guide. Once iTunes has iBooks installed in it it will work.

Yeah I've got the same iTunes crashing issue when trying to add the iPad 3.2.1 pdf. I'm running 9.2.1 and Windows 7.
