how to access music controls while doing something else?

    I was told that double tapping the home button while i was in safari or cydia or another app would cause the music controls to appear on my screen but it only takes me to the search menu

    that was only in 2.x not in 3.1.2 it wont work anymore

    I never understood why they would remove features in updates. Maybe there is a tweak in Cydia. I'd check there.

    Well, go to Settings > General > Home and make sure "Double-click the Home Button for:" is set to "iPod". Also, make sure "iPod Controls" is on. If it's still not working, download iPodPop from Cydia, it forces the music controls to appear no matter what.
