While I do feel that the 5th generation iPod Touch is the best iPod Touch yet, I do find some improvements it could get. The revolutionary design sets it apart from any other iPod Touch and it truly is brilliant. Here are a few slight changed I think should be made. 1) Wifi Antenna The iPod Touch hasn't had an obviously visible wifi antenna since the 3rd generation. Apple has found ways to hide it in the iPod Touch 4th generation as well as all iPad models. The wifi antenna on the 5th generation iPod Touch stands out immediately and is quite obvious. I was honestly a tad bit disappointed when I first saw that Apple made the wifi antenna look the same as the one found on the 2nd/3rd generation iPod Touch. It would look much more luxurious and sleek without it. Here is what I feel the iPod Touch 5th generation should look like: Just a rough drawing from Photoshop2) Price vs CapacityI know many people were disappointed that Apple got rid of the 8GB on the 5th generation. The iPod Touch 5th generation likely cost more to make so they must charge more for it. The easiest way to charge more is to get rid of the $199 8GB model. Now they just have the 32 and 64. I feel instead the prices and sizes should be as follows:4th Generation 32GB- $1994th Generation 64GB- $2995th Generation 16GB- $2495th Generation 32GB- $2995th Generation 64GB- $3993) ColorsI feel the colors should be able to be mixed and matched. I know some people who only like the black digitizer and I know some people that only like the white digitizer. I originally thought the colors could be mixed and matched and I wanted to get a black back and a white digitizer. Unfortunately, Apple has made combinations like this impossible. If this was possible then the iPod Touch would have 12 different color combinations which follow:Black Aluminum/Black DigitizerBlack Aluminum/White DigitizerSilver Aluminum/Black DigitizerSilver Aluminum/White DigitizerPink Aluminum/Black DigitizerPink Aluminum/White DigitizerYellow Aluminum/Black DigitizerYellow Aluminum/White DigitizerBlue Aluminum/Black DigitizerBlue Aluminum/White DigitizerRed Aluminum/Black DigitizerRed Aluminum/White DigitizerOther than those things I listed, I feel the iPod Touch is great. I still feel it has room to grow and still become a better device, however it is great as it is. What do you think of this? What changed would you make to the iPod Touch if you could?Heres what other users in this thread would add: A6 Chip FM Radio Bigger Screen (Wider and Taller) Same RAM as iPhone GPS Better Camera 3G/4G Capable Get rid of iPod Loop button Flatten Camera Lens More Colors (Green) Ambient Light Sensor Wolfson DAC Additional Speakers on other side of device (ie- top bit for better audio quality when you hold it.) Shock, dust and water-proof (ip67 certified) Addition button for flashlight. Built-in compass Sell it at higher price and make only 16gb ones, but give it an additional memory slot. Thicker Add torrent client Come pre jailbroken so it's actually useful Unlock fm radio that all iPods have had just use earphones as antenna Built in torrent client instead of trying to force ya stuck In the walled garden Vibration Notifications
bigger screen, 4inch is still small. need 4.3 and not just height increase, also some width. but more important are: 1) better processor, a5 is still slow, needs a6 or whatever cpu iphone uses, ipod should have too. 2) same ram as future iphones, so if future iphones have 2 gig, ipod needs that too 3) GPS 4) better camera that should do it.
No strange little button in the corner would look more sleek also, and the camera should sink into the device a little, not stick out 1mm. Other than that it looks great!
You're never going to get that pricing that you want (200 for 32 GB). Not today, maybe in a few years though XD What I would want is 3G data connectivity (not for me personally, but others would like it) as well as GPS (something I really want). Also having current specs to the current-gen iPhone would be a nice touch.
You're right. Maybe these would be better prices: 4th Generation 32GB- $249 4th Generation 64GB- $299 5th Generation 16GB- $249 5th Generation 32GB- $299 5th Generation 64GB- $399
Still not happening too soon. Maybe in a couple years, but I don't see Apple doing that. If anything, the 16 GB will become the 200 model, then the 32 GB dropped when 64 is cheap enough, then 64GB becomes the 300 and 128 GB will be 400. I don't see Apple stepping away from the 200 300 400 dollar scale.
