So, it's my understanding that iOS 4 GM has been jailbroken, and the newest 3GS bootroom that comes with 3.1.3 has been unlocked--but the dev team(s) are waiting for 24-48 hours after the iPhone 4's release to publicly release the unlock. Is this all true?
(If iOS 4 is jailbroken for the 3GS, will it HAVE to work for the 4, too? I'm not sure what the hardware changes can do...)

What are your bets of the specific days there will be public releases for the iPhone 3GS 3.1.3's bootrom unlock, the iPhone 4's jailbreak, and iPhone 4's unlock?

iPhone 4 jailbreak might come out if they didn't patch things (unlikely). Who knows, the iPhone 4 might be tethered jailbreak all over again.

I predict that it will take a while to find a new exploit.

I doubt it. The 3GS and 3G ipod were jail broken rather fast.

You guys have to realize companies like Apple have employees that look for bugs and exploits in their own devices so that they can fix it in the future. Apple probably fixes exploits we might not even know existed in the first place. Didn't stop Apple from sending me my 3GS replacement with the old bootrom lol.

To be honest we're not too worried about the ones we don't know about. It's the ones we do right?

remember when the 2nd gen ipod touch came out, and for like 6 months the chronic dev team tried to find an exploit? and then the regular dev team got one and jailbroke it in a couple days

i don't think it'll take very long at all

I'm not sure it will be released on the timeframe everybody seems to be hoping for (ie the day it is released), but it will come out eventually.

It's much easier to break something than it is to keep it from being broken into.
