Not any more scratch proof than previous gens. Instead of wondering how easily the screen scratches, I just threw a screen protector on. Can't even tell it's there.

Any advice on how to get rid of the bubbles when using the protectors.

One thing I hate about screen protectors is that when there is light (fluorescent) it makes a rainbow effect which is annoying

thats odd my 1g ipod touch has never had any screen protectors on it and it has gone through hell but there are little to no scratches on the screen at all.

Your question has obviously been answered from the previous post. The topic has now become more focused on screen protectors, so I added my experience with them

When applying the protector get a bank card out of your wallet and smooth it firmly over the screen. This will force air bubbles out..

Some of the screen protector kits come with a little card to smooth out the protector and get the bubbles out. Why wouldn't you get a screen protector to protect your $300 investment
