This is a discussion thread for the "How Often Do Apps Crash On You?" story posted on the front page.
Only one app on Android crashes on me, and that's Chrome (which is incredibly unstable on Android). On my 4S, a few apps crash for me, but I attribute that to my jailbreak, and just assume that if it wasn't jailbroken, no apps would crash. Either way, both OS's are totally stable.
On my iPod touch 4g - a lot, this device was really shafted IPhone 3g - not many, but it is overall slow Nexus 7 - every once in awhile, but I have a ton of stuff running in the background and I have the beta cyanogenmod technically
Nexus 7: Occasionally a few games will crash on me. All iOS devices: Rarely do I get app crashes. Mac: Xcode is stupid and enjoys crashing on me.
Nexus 7: Occasionally, same as kn430 said, a few games but otherwise stable iPhone 4S: Rarely. Last Facebook update fixed some issues because it was crashing a lot but I don't think that was iOS but Facebook's app
iOS - FIFA13 tends to hang at startup (although the saved files remain untouched)... Same goes for Asphalt 7, but otherwise, most other apps are in good shape... Android - Facebook becomes cranky once in a while, crashing at the wrong times... Still, the apps on this firmware are quite stable most of the time...
I am using iPod Touch 5 and I get crashes day in day out. Every week I get at least 1 crash, even on optimized apps. Blasted irritating. As some know, I even get rare resprings. Issues only on iOS 6. My previous jailbroken iPod Touch 4 running on iOS 5 crashes high end games like a drunk driver. Works one minute, the next few days, doesn't work. Then after a week or so, works again.
Hardly any crashes on my iPod Touch 5G. I remove background Apps. If I estimated the crashes, it would be around ten...since I got my iPod in October (I think it was October). I don't really run intensive apps either.
I get crashes even without anything running in the background. Even resprings occur when using the search page.
