Recently, many have been saying that 8gb is to small for HD recording. However, according to an "Apple expert," 1 hour of 720p 30 frames/sec equates to about 1 gb of storage usage.

I use the term loosely because, as we have seen in other post, their merits do not always correlate to their title.

Unfortunately, I asked the Apple rep. Carla G if I could post the chat transcript online, and she told me that no copy of the transcript could be published online. However, if there is any doubts, feel free to contact them.

It all depends on how compacted the files are. Since we don't have iPods to record with yet, this can't be determined.

The Nikon D90 shoots 720p and it takes ~100MB/minute, so about 6GB/hour.

The ipod touch may use a different, more efficient encoding, but we don't know yet. If you plan on shooting video I would definitely get the 32GB.

Yep which is good for me. Its not like I plan on doing a 4 hour video. (Only need .5 gig for music--> zune has all my music.)
