I have 7GB -.-
Um The 8GB is a fancy memory all ipods start with 7.21 GB because they need the space for all the other apps. (Maps,Mail,Safari, Ect.)
2.0 jailbreak knocked out a gig of your memory, that sucks
mine says 7.1 gb, odd
Thats because its 8,000,000,000 bytes. Not 8 GB. 8 billion bytes is actually 7.450580596923828125gb. Please Register or Log in to view images

Btw before I jailbroke it it didn't have 8 GB it had 7.3 or something.
mine had 7.2 gb
after jailbreaking 2.0 my 16 gb had 0 gbs left
mine had originally 14.84 now it has 14.64 i gave 500 for system partition
after the jailbreak, i have 14.64 gb total available.
so far i've added a 9 applications from the cydia installer plus 5 from the App store, and itunes is telling me that all of those apps are taking up 3.3 gb.
When i uninstalled most of the apps (from bothe cydia and app store), itunes still showed that 3 gb was taken up by "other" (on the bottom of itunes, it shows how the memory on your ipod is allocated -- music, movies, photos, and other).
Is this normal? Should that much room be taken up by the basic jailbreak (with practically no apps installed)?
