That question can't be answered simply.

It depends on the condition, scratches, apps, etc.

If I sold an iPod, I would sell it after a restore. I wouldn't trust anybody with an iPod with apps that I purchased...

I would use the Apple Refurb website as a starting point... I wouldn't pay any more than what Apple is charging for a refurbed 2g with the same capacity...

120? I'd say it depends mostly on where you are and how fast you want it. I live in a small town so there's maybe 2 people selling them for 15$ less than best buy, but that's for instant gratification. I'd recommend offering a local person 80-100$ cash in 5 dollar bills and waving it in their face. Most people go for thick stacks of money.

As someone who didn't own a touch at all, the 3rd gen was an excellent buy. If you have a 2nd Gen though, yea, I'd hold off.

Unless you can sell the 2G for a decent amount, I found it worth while

The best place to go if you don't want a new iPod is a refurb, they have full warranty and all accessories included
