I really wish 8gb meant 8gb but no mp3 player list regular memory. I'm thinking of getting the 8GB.

    I have:
    3GB's of music
    2GB's of videos

and the rest are gonna be for apps and video's off the camera. Enough?

ON your device you can fit

    3 gb of music
    2gb of video
and only 15 minutes of recording if you have no apps

    Think about it.

On a 32 gig you can have quadruple the amount of space

Well iOS takes up space. Not sure the exact about, but the amount of free space at the start is somewhere around 6.x GB. It doesn't appear out of thin air.

I would spend the extra and get the 32GB if not the 64GB. The extra space will be there when you need it. Plus its always nice to have the extra space.

The ipsw for the 4th generation devices weighs in at 520MB (2nd gens were 320MB). Unpacked and with the formatting, you'll lose about 1.8GB - for you this would leave a decent amount for apps and photos/videos, but not a lot.

The 8GB is a terrible value. I highly recommend getting the 32GB.

I'd say if you're going to be putting ANY video on your iPod, go with the 32GB.

Personally, I prefer to watch videos on my computer/HDTV, so I'm OK with 8GB.
  9. All fourth generation iPod touch's have 256MB of memory.
