I jut updated and rejailbroke 2.2.1, and I'm noticing that my Touch is a lot faster.

I don't have Winterboard or Categories reinstalled yet, and I'm really wondering how much they slow down a Touch.

Do they slow it down a lot, or is 2.2.1 firmware just faster?

Is there any sort of replacement app for Categories? I like having my Springboard nice and tidy, but I'm sure Categories is a big drain as well.

Would stacks work better without as much drain on the Touch's resources?

Can't say i notice a difference in the performance of mine with either on, and if it does make a difference its not enough to bother me. I'm also on the 2g so idk if you have 1g if it makes a difference

when i used winterboard + some other things i downloaded, the ram consumption of springboard reaches 24mb-30mb, it doesn't include the categories' ram consumption. Right now, i dont have both winterboard and categories;thus, having my springboard consume 10-12mb of ram only.

The only thing i'm wondering is, the free memory that MemTool says are almost the same with winterboard and without; although, i don't get crashes while running heavy apps anymore.
