Well, the Dev team announced to all potential 3G unlockers not to update to 2.2, then about a month later they showed the unlock video on 2.2. Although I don't know if it is a software exploit or hardware exploit.

    Ok my friend.

Your iPhone will stay unlocked as long as you stay with the current firmware. And NEVER update it.

    Period.

    Plain and simple.

Yeah it's possible if new hacks are made.

Basically the way you want to handle it is this.

    1) New Update comes out
    2) DONT UPDATE!!!
    3) Dev-Team will make a new pwnage/yellowsnow tool
    4) Update
    5) Re-Jailbreak and Re-Unlock
    6) Wait till Apple makes another update.

More then likely your going to need to use a custom FW with the new baseband (if and they probably will update it) disabled. IE keep your current BB.

The exploit used for this unlock will probably be patched with the next update. Until the find an exploit in the BB bootloader (like the original iphone) upgrading and downgrading the baseband is not possible. So if the next update patches the exploit in the BB and you upgrade to the new FW stock from itunes then your probably screwed until a new exploit is found.

So when a new FW is released WAIT for the dev-team to give the OK to update and follow there instructions.
