Well, check to see if you're automatically syncing songs and videos or apps?

If you just connect the iPad to iTunes, then it should take at most 1-2 minutes to do a backup of the settings.

Also check if iTunes is not running like *** on your computer... There's a chance something else is slowing the computer down as a whole. I can sync my iPad to my netbook in less than 1 minute...

Same here. Just the backup takes a good 20 to 30 minutes.....sometimes more. Once the backup is done, the sync is usually just a few minutes. On the other hand, my iPt only takes a couple minutes for backup and sync.

My Ipad backup takes like two minutes, but adding in content is different. Just depends on what more I'm adding.

I've noticed that the backup takes longer if you have downloaded things into apps after the last time... Eg. stanza or iBooks or comics, etc. So it takes longer to backup that external info.

However, as usual... You can always use Zonealarm to cancel your backups if you don't want to do them each time (Set Zonealarm to ask you for permissions for iTunes, and then you can deny the backup... But it will still sync - this can cut your times down if you just want to backup every so often or not at all...)

In saying that, although I have a lot of apps and my iPad is only 2 days old.. My backups have only ranged from instantaneous to 10 minutes max (when I dl'd lots of books all at once)

** EDIT ** Whoops! So I voted 3-5 minutes Windows)

Yup. Mine takes 3-5 minutes. Maybe it depends on your computer? Or amount of room left on your iPad?

Backing up takes ages(I uploaded some videos via iFunBox to iDownload's Documents folder so iTunes backs them up, and it takes about 8-9 minutes to complete...

Arent SYNC and BACKUP two different things? If so doesnt the title say SYNC? And it varies on what I have downloaded, being doing with the iPod or time since last SYNC.
