It's been asked before, but I was wondering if syncing using the new OS and new iTunes takes longer. Regular sync, not a restore. Mine takes 2 to 3 hours. Sync and backup. Roughly 6GB on it. It's much longer than it used to be, which was under an hour. A couple of new apps and videos, should it take that long?
Great. Something must be wrong with mine. How can I speed it up? Is there a way to sync without doing the backup?
When I was running iTunes 9 and 3.1.3, it took me like 8 hours to sync like 55GB of music, which was weird. But then after updating to iTunes 9.1 and 4.0 beta, it took an hour-ish to sync everything.
Do you have a lot of books/Stanza on it? Supposedly that is a reason for a very long sync.... Personally, I Zonealarm control my sync... so that when the backup programme is about to start, I deny it... so it just syncs my new games, etc.. and doesn't do a backup each time, cutting my syncs right down to just a few minutes.
Well, for me, the initial sync takes long because it has to sync everything onto my iPod, but the syncs after that just take a few minutes.
