I went through the procedure yesterday. The download takes about 30 minutes and the restore takes about another 30 minutes. This is still far less time than it took to connect to iTunes for the download yesterday. The combination of the release of the 3G iPhone, software/firmware 2.0 and the opening of the new Apps Store yesterday made connection to the iTunes store pretty much impossible for most of the day.

How about 14 hours to restore...?

Hmmmm...I downloaded the 2.0 upgrade last night at 6:00 and went through the steps, got to the restore part and went to bed. This morning at 8:00 it's still restoring and the bar is only about 30% of the way across. Is it safe to restart a restore?
