I got an ipod touch 2g in jan. Right now its accelerometer and battery seem weird. I am going to return it. But how does it work? Do i bring it to the store?
If I restore to default am i safe? Do i get a refurb for exchange?

Ok. My other fear is how it works. Do they give me a new one? Or is it a refurb? Do they do it same day or what?

They will give you a new one if they can't fix the old one. But if you happened to screw around with the ipod and it was your fault it doesn't work then they won't fix it free of charge. As to a refurb or not, i believe they give a brand new ipod but i am not 100% sure, because i never had to bring mine in for repairs. They will check it out the day you bring it in and if it something more technical, as in going into the ipod itself, is occurring then i think they will take a closer look at it. And mail it back to you.

Hmm. Well I don't think i screwed with it. But I think I can explain the battery thing. Is it possible a non approved charger would interfere and damage the battery? (lets not tell the "genius")

I also cant explain what happened to the accelerometer though.
