I was just wondering, how does itunes know WHEN the iPod was bought...
Was it the activation done when the iPod is switched on the first time and synced with iTunes..In that case is it possible to over ride that date and make it seem to appear to have been bought after December 27 ? When i jailbroke my Touch 1.1.2 i was asked to activate it a second time in iTunes....Any ideas?

I guess it records purchase day on iPod activation via iTunes.

That's why i asked maybe if it is possible to re-activate the Touch by some method (in effect we would have bought it after December 27) making the downloads free..

If you have ever connected iPod to iTunes being online, be sure, your iPod is already activated.

I guess this is impossible. I actually tried to activate / deactivate my iPod with iPHUC, that did not work. I guess activation date being once recorded is not updated anymore at the Apple side.

omg guys the serial number is the indicator for buying date...

for example i have a "43" as 3rd and 4th number (or something like this, i don't have itunes here) and have bought the ipod in the 43rd week of the year
(3rd and 4th number -> buying date indicator)

so, when you are able to change this number, happy activating
