Too many times recently, I've paused my music on my iPod, turned off the screen, left it alone for a few hours- and then came back to find it playing music and wasting the battery. How do I stop this from hapenning ? I've checked the manual and these forums but the problem doesn't se to be adressed.

No, I haven't. I don't think it would make adifference either, since my iPod has always been doing this (I've had it maybe 3 weeks)

Bring it back to Apple, there's obviously a defect.

I recommend to atleast try, and if it still doesn't work I'd return it for a new one.

I thought you had to click on the mic to play/pause?

Well, supposedly it happens with those new headphones that Apple ships with iPod (the ones with the mic), so either use another pair of headphones, or unplug it whenever you're not using your iPod.

jeez the criticism here is really not appreciated. i have the same issue without the mic/headphones attached. Pausing does not always turn off the music. Is there or is there not a way to turn off, not just pause, the music. all those who are exasperated critical know it alls need not answer.
