don't you just push the button on the top which turns the screen off, or puts it to "sleep"?

Stop touching your touch. That will put it to sleep

Or to do it immediately rather than waiting [unless you change your settings so it only takes a couple settings or a minute or whatever to sleep] just tapping the black bar on top puts it to "sleep". Yeah. I hope that's right LOL.

Constantly turning it on and off will drain it more because when you turn it on it takes more umm power because it has to reload all the stuff again? Just a guess.

Yeah, when you start it up from being off, it takes power go from inert to on. Granted, it isn't as much as if it used a hard-drive.
