How do you do this? Seems so simple yet I don't have the slightest idea.
E-mail it to yourself within the iPod. ;-)
It works like if you were to connect your digital camera to your computer, just plug your ipod into your computer and a pop up comes up saying that a camera has been identified (that's how it works on my windows vista computer, I don't know if other computers are different)
The easiest way is to push the home screeen and on/off botton at the same time. Don't hold, just push..a screen will pop up to let you add it to photos.

If you're using a Mac, connect your iPod and open Image Capture.
In the folder where your Photos are stored on your computer, if it's in sync with it. If you're on an iPhone, i guess it remains in 100APPLE still?
What he said... works perfectly.
