Does someone know how to edit the springboard on the 2.2.1 jailbreak? Do I install the customize app like on older jailbreaks?

    Spring board

I don't see an option in winter board to edit the text on the spring board.

    What do you mean?
    Colors? Fonts? Hiding?

For colors, there are packages in Cydia for that, then select your desired color in Winterboard.
For fonts, install my package, "Winterboard Font Pack," from STE Packaging on Cydia, then select your desired font in Winterboard.
For hiding icon labels, select both undocked and docked icon labels and move it above the current theme that you are using.

No, I don't mean fonts. Back when I had 1.1.4 and I used customize, I could change the text on the springboard to say what ever I wanted. Can I do that with winter board? Customize is a pain!

Oh, like the names of icons?
You can use an application called Rename for that. It should be on the WeiPhone source in Cydia.
For carrier text and time banner text, you can still use MakeItMine.

That's not what I was talking about but that does sound pretty cool too. I was talking about the slidey bar thing, the thing that says slide to unlock or slide to cancel. Maybe I'm calling it the wrong name. Could it be system strings?

You would have to make your own theme and change the springboard strings.

Look it up on here. Ive seen/used a tutorial before

Oh, yep. That's what it's called. There's nothing but Customize out there for the moment, unless you want to edit it manually and place the SpringBoard.strings file in your Winterboard theme.
